Tapes authored by Peter C. Newman, the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney
commenced legal action against Mr. Newman. Mr. Newman initiated discussions
which have resulted in settlement of the lawsuit. By this settlement, all key
matters raised in his lawsuit have been resolved to the satisfaction of Mr.
Mulroney and his family.
Mr. Newman is also pleased that this matter has been settled.
In conformity with the terms of settlement, neither Mr. Mulroney nor Mr.
Newman will comment further on this matter.
